Lead Lined Lorry Scanner
The Brief:
To assist in the design and manufacture of a lorry scanning machine, to be fitted onto the bed of a Mercedes Truck.
Summary:
The finished products were lined in 6mm lead sheet and fitted out to a high standard for operator comfort.
The large arm mechanism at the rear of the lorry forms into a bridge arrangement. The X Ray vehicle then drives alongside the vehicle being inspected and scans the contents.
The units are now in service around the world, commissioned by the USA Defence Command to assist in the discovery of illegal movement of goods or people, at international borders.
The unit shown above now operates in Pakistan.
